The Transdev New Zealand team, Howick and Eastern, will soon be operating the country’s first hydrogen bus on behalf of Auckland Transport. Our team members will be among the first in New Zealand to get behind the wheel of a hydrogen fueled vehicle, a new energy source which 100% zero emission.

Hydrogen technology is continuing to evolve and has been proven as being a safe and sustainable fuel for heavy vehicles, including buses. Hydrogen buses are zero-emissions, as instead of emitting gas, safe combustion of hydrogen creates water and water vapor.

Transdev New Zealand continues to seek out new opportunities to innovate and provide a better experience for customers.

Transdev already operates hydrogen buses in France (Lens), with two more projects this year in Auxerre and Toulouse, in the Netherlands, with plans to experiment the technology in Sweden later this year.
