Cable Movil, the consortium constituted by Transdev Chile and our Colombian partner Fanalca has been awarded the 5.5 years operation and maintenance contract for the first cable car in Bogota, the TransMicable, for a total amount of €26,4 million.

With its 4 stations, the TransMicable built by Doppelmayr will carry up to 3 600 passengers per direction during peak hour with a total of 160 gondolas.

The TransMicable will serve a district in the south of Bogota called “Ciudad Bolivar” and will allow its 700 000 inhabitants to be connected to the BRT system. The 3.3 kilometers trip will last 13 minutes and will save around one hour of transport to the passengers. It will help the better integration with the city and a wide social plan will be set up to meet with success the launch of this new mode of transport.

The pre-operative phase will start in June 2018 and the operation will begin before the end of the year, for 5.5 years with a possible extension of 2.5 years.
