Solano County Transit (SolTrans) has announced Transdev as their new partner to provide transit services in South Solano County as of July 1, 2021. Transdev will transition current operators and staff from the prior contractor, but employees will have new uniforms, training, and be under a new management team.

We are looking forward to the fresh, new approach that Transdev will bring to our daily operations. Our goal is to provide our passengers with a safe, reliable, courteous, efficient, and accessible transportation experience and this partnership will help us achieve that goal.

John Sanderson, Operations Manager for SolTrans

Transdev has a significant presence in the California region, and has committed corporate, regional, and local support team members to support the SolTrans operation. Transdev’s proposal was the highest ranked due to its focus on building a strong employee culture, its implementation of innovative technology to enhance the management of the system, and its experience managing and maintaining electric bus fleets.

Transdev will be operating the multimodal SolTrans system within the cities of Benicia and Vallejo, with regional connections to Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) in Contra Costa County. They will be maintaining the SolTrans fleet of 68 buses to deliver 16 bus routes, which include 9 local routes, 3 supplemental school routes operating within the Benicia/ Vallejo area, 3 lines which provide regional service connections, and the entire paratransit service.

We know that our experience, including our electrification expertise, along with our knowledge of this region, can make a difference to SolTrans and their riders. The new technology options that we provide will offer significant improvements to the service, quality and passenger experience. We are looking forward to helping SolTrans recover from the recent effects of the pandemic and make a positive impact to support our new partnership.
