Nordwestbahn GmbH has been founded in 1999 and started it’s services in November 2000 in the Region of Weser-Ems. Nowadays the trains are connecting cities and regions across four federal states in central and north Germany. On November 6, 2018, NordWestBahn won the contract to operate the S-Bahn regional trains in Hannover, which should be operational as of December 2021.
