Transdev Sweden acquires A Björks AB to become Sweden’s third largest public transportation operator

Transdev Sweden signed on July 25 an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in A Björks AB, a Swedish public transportation operator. With this acquisition, Transdev is strengthening its position as the third largest public transportation operator in Sweden with annual revenues of approximately €570 million and over 6,000 employees. The parties have agreed on the terms and are now expecting the final approval of Konkurrensverket, the Swedish competition authority. The acquisition is expected to be completed in September 2019. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction.

    A Björks AB consists of eight companies and brands: Björks Buss, Björks Buss Närke, VS & Perssons Bussar, KR Trafik, Siljan Buss and Lindbergs Buss, SamBus and BTL, including the train maintenance services 24/7. Most of the operations are located in Central and Northern Sweden. With its 1,500 employees and 650 vehicles, A Björks AB is the leading player in Dalarna, Västmanland, Uppland and Gävleborg.
