In order to present the most competitive and solid offer, Transdev relied on two major partners, NGE for the construction of a maintenance and storage site in Nice and Alstom for the construction of new trains.

Quality of service and cost control are essential to encourage greater use of regional lines by passengers and accelerate the ecological transition in transport. With this in mind, Transdev has integrated into its offer:

    • a doubling of the transport offer, with 14 round-trip connections per day and hourly
departures over a wider time span, thus providing more quality of service, reliability, regularity
and punctuality (97.5% of trains punctual), an aspect expected by daily travelers

    • an order for 16 new Alstom Omneo Prémium Sud double-decker trainsets (14 in operation, 2
in reserve) with high capacity (418 seats per trainset = 352 fixed seats and 66 folding seats,
bicycle spaces), equipped with electrical and USB sockets, offering high levels of comfort and
service on board such as air conditioning, a Wi-Fi portal, and a catering area. To reinforce onboard security, cameras will be present in each train.
    • the construction, by our partner NGE, of a new maintenance and storage site in Nice, which
will ensure a high level of safety, controlled and optimized maintenance, and total availability
of the trains, particularly during peak times.
    • an attractive social framework for a collective and collaborative project (transfer of
employees, guarantee of social benefits, career-long training, multi-skilling). A human-scale
working environment will be set up, with a local management team dedicated to the line.
Transdev will create 80 jobs and is also committed to recruiting part of its staffing needs from
people in social reintegration and also to providing in-house training for our employees who
      are far from employment;
    • an environmental project, firmly committed to the environmental transition, with traction
energy that will be 100% green of French origin via the purchase of green certificates from the
electricity supplier chosen by Transdev and drivers trained in rail eco-driving.

For this new offer, Transdev and the Région Sud will be investing up to 250 million euros, covering
the order of new train sets and the construction of the new depot in Nice. According to the contractual commitments to be signed with the Région Sud, the new Marseille – Toulon – Nice regional link will enter into service at the end of June 2025.

This announcement is excellent news for Transdev, the Region and its inhabitants. Thanks to new, more comfortable trains with numerous services, a doubling in the number of daily trains and an organization designed to ensure better service reliability, we will help to strengthen the attractiveness of this line, which is a key factor for the Région Sud . These changes are fundamental to enable residents to choose the train and thus accelerate the ecological transition in the region
