Smart new-look buses providing new and improved links from town to train – brighter and better buses are now in service in and around Otley, thanks to a makeover by Transdev in Yorkshire.

The improvements have delivered a brand-new name – Otley Dash – for the bus firm’s town service 965, plus a bold new image to make its buses stand out from the crowd.

The new Otley Dash route is also now extended for the first time to serve Menston railway station, creating new direct bus to train links for residents in the Weston, St Richard’s Road and Newall areas of the market town.

Bright new-look buses are also now on the road for the companion Wharfedale Links 962 service, linking Otley with Burley, Ilkley and Hebers Ghyll Drive every hour, six days a week.

This package of improvements is great news for Otley and has delivered a dashing new look for our local town buses, along with direct links to trains at Menston station for the first time.

The buses are timed to minimize waiting at Menston for train connections, creating a seamless connection which makes onward travel to Leeds much easier.

The new-look buses we’re now running on our Otley Dash service feature USB power at every seat, fast and free on-board Wi-Fi. comfier seats and next stop announcements to make travel easier for our customers with disabilities.

As the current restrictions on travel continue for the time being, these changes are all about making travel easier for key workers and those who rely on our buses to reach essential shops and services.

We’re also planning for life beyond the pandemic by building buses back better, to make them places people really want to be seen – and our customers in Otley are already telling us how impressed they are by our newer, brighter buses.
