Our team in Western Australia recently held their annual Journey Maker Summit which featured a team-building activity with a difference. Starting off with a strategic review and presentations from Luke Agati, CEO Transdev Australasia and Chief Officer Bus Operations, Ian Craig, the Summit helped set the scene for the year ahead.

This year, Total Team Building ran a group bike building exercise to really bring the Journey Maker ethos to life. The teams put their problem-solving and collaboration skills to the test to build a bike from scratch!

Our colleagues were busily working away to ensure they were the first to complete the bike, but little did they know that the bikes would be donated to Western Australia Majella Primary School, and that the children who were to be gifted the bikes had been brought to the venue to be presented their brand new bikes!

The Majella School has a population of 200 with students coming from a diverse range of countries including Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Zambia, Iraq, Afghanistan, India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam, Timor, Columbia and Chile.

Total Team Building has been involved with Majella for 7 years. During that time, they have donated over 700 bikes through its programs. As a low-fee Catholic school in Western Australia, the school is committed to supporting its diverse school community offering English language classes to families to support their transition to life in Australia.

Our Western Australia colleagues were humbled and very emotional to see the students arrive at the venue to receive their brand-new bikes.

Congratulations to the winning Western Australia team whose bikes won the prize for best construction:

Jason Wai – Senior HSEQ Advisor;

Nasim Tushar – Resource Planning Specialist;

Kevin Szczyglak – Quality Assurance Officer;

Matt Carter – Head of Fleet & Facilities; and

How can we help you to move forward?
