Transdev has been awarded a new contract to manage and maintain public transportation services for Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST), beginning July 1, 2025. This partnership covers a portion of MST’s fixed-route services and the entirety of its paratransit operations across Monterey County.
Spanning a service area of 163 square miles, MST operates a fleet of 131 vehicles that provide vital connections to employment, education, healthcare, and other essential destinations. The five-year agreement marks a strategic step forward in enhancing mobility throughout the Monterey Peninsula and Salinas Valley.
To support MST’s goals, Transdev plans to introduce advanced scheduling and dispatching technologies aimed at improving efficiency and service quality, particularly for paratransit users. Additionally, a subcontractor will assist with longer-distance trips, allowing MST vehicles to focus on shorter, high-frequency routes with greater passenger demand.
This initiative underscores Transdev’s dedication to delivering sustainable and forward-thinking transit solutions that enhance everyday life for riders throughout Monterey County.
