In the Southern Region of Germany, the training of skilled workers in rail and bus operations continues to be a top priority. In 2022, trainees were once again taken on after successfully completing their training and now have a secure future with Transdev. Their successors are already at the starting line.

In 2022, Transdev subsidiary Württembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft GmbH (WEG) in Waiblingen was again honored by the Stuttgart Region Chamber of Industry and Commerce for « Outstanding Training Performance ». Trainee Jannik Köster passed his final examination in the state-recognized occupational training of « Railroad Worker in Operations – specializing in train driving and transportation » on June 30, 2022 with the overall result of « very good ». He received a prize from the vocational school in recognition of his good performance.

The Stuttgart Region Chamber of Industry and Commerce presented a certificate of recognition: « WEG trainees have achieved outstanding examination results. The IHK expresses its great thanks and appreciation to the company for this training success. » After completing his training, Köster went straight into his day-to-day work: he now works as a train driver on the Wieslauftalbahn operated by WEG between Schorndorf and Rudersberg.

WEG currently has both old and new apprentices: Julian Großberger, Leon Stauffer and Yannik Rudolf are already in their second year of training to become railroad employees in operational service (EiB), specializing in train driving and transportation. Robin Teucherdt and Marc Manske started their apprenticeship as railroad workers in operations service this year. Erik Pakull and Dominik Weber are already in their third year of training. WEG currently has a total of seven trainees in the occupation of railroad operating service – specializing in train driving and transportation.

At the sister company Omnibus-Verkehr Ruoff GmbH (OVR) also a Transdev subsidiary, Arianit Basholli also passed his final examination in the state-recognized apprenticeship occupation « Automotive mechanical technician – specializing in system and high-voltage technology » with the overall result « good » on July 7, 2022. Due to his excellent performance during the training, he was able to take the final examination early and thus shorten the training period.
