Heavy modes of transport – trains, light-rail, metros and urban cable cars – will be the central theme of our presence in Hamburg, whether at our stand, in the conference program or in our discussions with our transit authority clients, partners and the media.

With more than 150 heavy transport lines operated worldwide, Transdev is an international leader in these segments. The Group is (among other things):

  • The leading private rail operator in Germany since 1998.
  • A major rail operator in Sweden, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the United States (for track maintenance).
  • The world leader in light-rail, with 62 lines in nine countries and, as part of this dynamic, the operator of the world's largest light-rail network, Yarra Trams in Melbourne, Australia.
  • The future operator of the first urban cable car in the Île-de-France region, the Câble C1, which will enter service at the end of 2025.
  • Transdev has been operating Ecuador's metro in Quito since December 2023 (date of its creation). In just a few weeks, this line has become the backbone of public transport in the capital.

For the 2025 edition of the UITP World Summit, the Group is highlighting its expertise in the "heavy modes" of public transport: regional trains, light-rail, metros and urban cable cars. These structuring infrastructures are at the heart of the major challenges facing public transport: social cohesion, sustainable mobility and regional development.

Mobility is much more than a simple service: it is a vital necessity that shapes our daily lives. The ability to move freely for education, work, healthcare, or maintaining social connections is a fundamental need that strengthens social cohesion and fosters our citizens’ and communities’ development. This belief forms the foundation of Transdev’s mission and drives our teams worldwide.

Join us in Hall A1 – Stand No. A1336.
