Transdev Rail recently completed a high-impact infrastructure upgrade at LA Metro’s Union Station, replacing 1,100 direct fixation fasteners in just 35 hours. This work is part of Metro’s five-year plan to replace over 100,000 fasteners across the B and D Lines to maintain safety and performance.
The operation, carried out during a planned service shutdown, required precise coordination and was executed in two 12-hour shifts. The fasteners, which anchor rails to the tunnel bed, are vital for track stability and ride quality.
The successful completion highlights Transdev North America’s infrastructure capabilities and its strong partnership with Metro, contributing to the long-term modernization of LA’s transit system.
