Flowly

Flowly sensors anonymously detect the presence of smartphones, allowing to count the number of passengers. The precise and regular analysis of this data allows on the one hand to anticipate the required frequency on a network and on the other hand to communicate in real time on the level of affluence of a given vehicle.

Flowly is a start-up from La Réunion that develops tools for monitoring and analyzing passenger flows to optimize the operation of transportation networks.

It aggregates all mobility data (passenger counts, ticketing, origins, destinations, travel times, controls, etc.) in a single interface. It allows operators and local authorities to quickly adapt their transport offer and to inform customers about the passenger numbers on the lines.

Flowly also relies on a patented solution based on sensors installed in vehicles or at stops that collect passive signals emitted by passengers’ smartphones. Thanks to this technology, which filters, anonymizes and aggregates the data of the passengers present on board or at the stops, Flowly provides a continuous monitoring of origins and destinations, of the vehicles’ load, of the waiting time at stops and of the connections. Our processing complies with the recommendations of the CNIL and the GDPR regulation regarding the processing of personal data.

Flowly is deployed on nearly 30 networks and more than 1 000 vehicles in Ile de France, Rouen, St Etienne, Valence, Le Havre, Nîmes, or Dublin, on networks operating buses, coaches, BHNS, tramways and trains.
