Health: The Project by "Comme les Autres" Association Beyond Disability

Why this project?

Founded in 2011, Comme les Autres supports people who have become disabled following an accident as they rebuild their lives. The organization steps in after patients are discharged from rehabilitation centers, filling a gap in specialized support for those whose lives have been turned upside down. Faced with daily challenges in an environment that is often ill-suited to their needs, the organization offers comprehensive support physical, psychological, social, and professional to help these individuals overcome feelings of exclusion and fully reintegrate into society.

How does the organization operate?

The organization offers comprehensive support over a period of 1 to 4 years, covering all aspects of life (mobility, housing, rights, personal relationships, and employment), including:

5-day adventure sports trips to participate in outdoor activities such as paragliding or scuba diving.
Regular local sports and cultural activities.
Group workshops and personalized individual support.

This approach, inspired by the founders’ personal experiences, uses sports and adrenaline-fueled activities to foster the physical, psychological, and social recovery of participants.
