Our Health and Safety Policy
A dedicated organization: the Group Safety Department
The Group Safety Department establishes our policy, monitors its implementation and promotes a positive and proactive safety culture. Each quarter, a consolidated safety report by country is produced, as well as a Group report with key indicators that highlights improvements. Safety performance is reviewed with the management in each country and action plans are put in place to quickly remedy any non-conformities.
Our safety management system
Transdev Group has designed its Safety Management System (SMS) based on its many years of experience as a transportation operator. It provides a structured management approach for identifying, monitoring and controlling health and safety risks in our operations. Our operations must comply with the Group’s SMS, which establishes requirements in the following areas: organization, leadership and commitment, planning (including hazard identification and risk assessment), communication and consultation, documentation and follow-up, measurement, analysis and assessment of safety performance.
Our SMS is consistent and compatible with the ISO 45001 standard. Regular and rigorous internal and external audits are conducted in all entities to ensure it is effectively implemented.
Health and Safety community
Every year, the Group Safety Department organizes a Health and Safety seminar for all country safety managers. It provides an opportunity to review performance and highlight a specific topic. In 2025, the Group Safety Department organized an annual seminar bringing together the Safety and Quality communities. The 40 participants, from 18 countries and the Group headquarters, were able to discuss Transdev's ambitions in terms of safety and quality and share best practices.
During the Group's annual Safety and Quality seminar, four Safety Awards were presented.
These awards highlight the remarkable efforts, exceptional achievements, and commitment of teams in four main categories:
- The Safety Ambassador Award recognizes an employee who has played a significant role in improving the safety, health, or well-being of their colleagues, passengers, contractors, and the communities served.
- The Team of the Year Award highlights the outstanding achievements of a team that has made a significant contribution to improving safety, health, or well-being through effective collaboration.
- The Safety Excellence Award for the “small” entity category celebrates a small entity's (100 employees or fewer) commitment to safety, health, or well-being, demonstrated by performance.

Transdev's safety principles
These principles are a global initiative created with grass roots participation to identify non-negotiables for Transdev operations. Transdev employees and managers use these safety principles to guide their behavior and decision-making.

Safety, a key factor in travallers's numbers
Employees trained to protect themselves against assaults
To prevent attacks on its employees, Transdev is rolling out training modules dedicated to the prevention and management of conflict situations, tailored to local security issues. In addition, any employee who is the victim of an attack receives support and assistance from their manager to ensure a smooth return to work.
Our cooperation with law enforcement
As a key player in the security chain, Transdev is developing a strategy of partnerships with local police authorities and public institutions. The aim is to strengthen operational cooperation between all players in the security chain to improve public transport safety. These partnerships are based mainly on:
- Joint and coordinated security operations on the transport network to reassure passengers and deter anti-social behavior. These dynamic patrols involve the transport operator's own or subcontracted security agents and local law enforcement agencies.
- Improved information sharing to adapt transport security strategies;
- Joint training and the provision of transport vehicles for law enforcement agencies to practice responding to incidents in confined spaces under real-life conditions.

Our commitment to combating violence against women
On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Transdev signed a partnership agreement with UMAY, a leading mobile app for reporting street harassment and gender-based and sexual violence in public spaces.
This collaboration reflects Transdev's commitment to combating gender-based and sexual violence on public transport through actions such as:
- Training and raising awareness among employees on how to support victims of assault or harassment;
- Creating certified “Safe Places” (safe locations where people in distress can go), particularly within Transdev's commercial agencies;
- Developing features in the UMAY app that are tailored to public transportation. The goal is to simplify the reporting of incidents of incivility and enhance the responsiveness and effectiveness of security personnel, law enforcement, or emergency services, depending on the situation.
Technical devices for safety
Transdev complements its human security strategy with technical devices such as video surveillance cameras installed in vehicles and on premises to reassure passengers, as well as alert buttons available to drivers connected to the PCC. We also emphasize the physical protection of sensitive sites such as depots with intrusion alarms and video surveillance cameras, which may include thermal sensors or motion detectors.
