In'Pulse
[00:09] Today, we’re doing an onboarding program called Impulse. We help our newly recruited managers learn and understand what Transdev does, so they can then share this knowledge in their own countries and networks. [00:17] It has been very enlightening to discover the resources we have. Having the opportunity to network with peers from around the world is absolutely exciting. [00:36] We all experience similar challenges, and similar successes in delivering our services every day. [00:41] It’s something special to be able to share this with people from all over the world. [00:48] Over these three days, we introduce Transdev and its most important processes. [00:56] This program provides a global overview of our activities across all Transdev countries, where we want to go, and how we approach and understand our different markets. [01:10] It’s always very energizing to exchange ideas and see the passion participants have, especially when discussing people and management topics. [01:20] It’s about explaining and outlining a common method and language to drive operational performance. [01:29] What I expect from participants today is that they understand the impact operational performance has on the global organization. [01:39] What drives me is the opportunity to find new ways forward and new ideas. [01:44] We’re here for people, and we’re here to care for our communities. [01:46] I want everyone to be happy in the process. That’s what drives me. It feels like a family.
Women Excom Mentoring
[00:08] I'm organizing a women XCOM mentoring program. The idea is to match women in the company with XCOM members for a 12-month journey to gain insights into career and personal development. [00:15] These mentees are already in important positions in their countries. They are selected because we believe they will have opportunities at both the local and group levels. [00:40] I'm Joanna Feta. I'm from Portugal, and I've been lucky enough to have Marcus as my mentor. [00:46] This mentoring program is a great way to share perspectives on work. What is very important is to empower the people working with us. [01:03] My ambition is to make this program a true leadership and self-development journey. I want mentees to build on their strengths and define their own leadership style. [01:17] I strongly believe that more diverse leadership improves an organization’s ability to face global challenges. [01:26] It is important for mentees to understand what motivates them in their career and turn it into reality after the program. [01:38] I had the opportunity to experience this last year. It was an incredible human experience. [01:47] At the end, I felt much more confident and stronger in my leadership skills. [01:54] It gave me a new perspective and helped me see things differently. [02:02] I hope to learn, grow, and also enjoy the journey.
On the Launchpad
[00:10] The Knowledge Program is a solution that supports the identification of the next generation of managers. [00:20] The goal is to develop early talent. It brings together people from all job fields who want to discover the group from both an operational and a strategic perspective. [00:29] This allows them to gain a global understanding of the group’s ecosystem so they can grow within it. [00:37] The program highlights the many development opportunities within Transdev, as it is designed for future leaders who will become key players in the organization. [00:47] It covers talent, operations, and many activities happening worldwide. Participants get the opportunity to meet experts in their respective fields. [01:00] I’ve gained a broader understanding of the network, both in daily work and in terms of future contributions within my role. [01:07] When we come together and meet experts, we can gather a lot of knowledge. [01:15] We ensure that participants develop the ability to understand the complexity of our business and make sound decisions that benefit the communities we serve. [01:30] What drives me is bringing people together. [01:33] This program strengthened my motivation. [01:37] It shows that the company invests in you. You should see it as support and make the most of it. [01:45] It’s a program that helps shape your future — helping you grow, experiment, contribute, and learn within Transdev. [01:52] At Transdev, we listen to young people and value their ideas. We need you the more talent we have, the stronger we become.
Our employees
talk about international internal mobility
Camille Boulier, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Development, and Communications at Transdev Canada
Camille Boulier, Senior Vice-President Strategy, Business Development and Communications at Transdev Canada: "I don't know, I'm just improvising completely here... okay, I forgot the question. Hi, I'm Camille Boulier, I'm Senior Vice President Strategy, Business Development and Communications at Transdev Canada. I started at Transdev in the northern part of France in 2010, it was almost 14 years ago now. And I'm now in charge of strategy, business development and communications for Transdev Canada, and I've been doing this for the past five years now. At the beginning, you know, when you think about international mobility, you don't really know what you're supposed to expect. You can have the chance at Transdev to meet a lot of different people, international colleagues in different communities and channels. Transdev brings the opportunities, but then it's up to you to seize them. It's really up to you to make the move and to say: 'Hey, I would like to go there, I would like to be part of it.' So in 2019, I got the opportunity to move to Canada. I took it and today I live in Montreal, Canada, and I'm still working for Transdev. Moving to Canada from France really got me to be more open. You just change the way you approach people, you approach things, and this is very precious because then you feel like you can tackle any new opportunities. You feel less afraid of going to something very new because you had to adapt and you know you can do it. A message I would give to my colleagues who think about international mobility would be: if you are already thinking about it, do it. Try, meet people, talk about this, share with colleagues who have done it because of course it comes with challenges, but when it works out, it's really great. From a personal standpoint, I think that I'm a better person now... well, I hope! No, I think I'm a better person now. In the end, I think it was the best move I made in my career, and maybe also from a personal standpoint."
Jens-Ulrich Beck, Managing Director Württembergische Eisenbahn Gesellschaft, Germany
Jens-Ulrich Beck, Managing Director of Württembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft, Germany: "In Germany we say if there are no critics, it's well done. Okay. Hi, I'm Jens-Ulrich, I work for Transdev and for the German subsidiary in the Stuttgart area, the Württembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft, and I'm the Managing Director of that company. I was studying at the university and then I started as a trainee in the headquarters in Berlin in 2007. It was a great opportunity for me to get a good start after my university education and, right after my university, I started working with Transdev for the last 17 years. In the beginning, I had a lot of internal opportunities within Germany and I was at a certain point where I said: 'Okay, I saw a lot within Germany, but I’d like to see something outside of Germany. I want to know, am I able to work outside of Germany in a foreign country?'. So I asked my senior manager whether there are opportunities to move within Transdev. He said: 'Yeah, there's the opportunity of course, we can manage something, and what do you think about Canada?'. And I said: 'Cool, wow, why not!'. It was very simple. It was, I don't know, two or three talks of 30 minutes and then it was done. Going to Canada and seeing what the people in Canada will do, how will they solve their problems, what kind of challenges and tasks will they have... I took my luggage and sat in the plane and flew to Canada. It was the best question I ever asked my senior manager to do. I promote it because I did it, and all of my team members know that I was abroad and I tell them: 'If you want to do the same, come to me and ask me, and then I'll try to manage it for you'. Also, if you want to go abroad, don't wait for anything but just ask your senior manager: 'Are there opportunities? Can you support me?'. And if he says yes, and he probably will say yes, then take your luggage, go to the train, go to the airplane, go over to take a boat and go abroad and make some experiences. It's the best choice you can ever do."
Caroline Holm, Business Controller, Sweden
Anne-Cécile Laroche, Operational Performance Director (formerly Financial Controller, Sweden) in the video: "Hello, my name is Anne-Cécile Laroche. I am currently the Operational Performance Director for Transdev in the United States. I joined Transdev 10 years ago. I started at the headquarters in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France, as the Group Operational Performance Manager. At the beginning, the idea of international mobility was more of a concept than a reality, but after several years at headquarters, I had the opportunity to go out into the field and see how things worked concretely in another country. So, I had the chance to move to Chicago to join the U.S. team. What is exciting about international mobility is that you don't just bring your technical skills; you learn a new culture, a new way of working, and you have to adapt very quickly. It’s a challenge, but it’s also extremely rewarding. You see operations from a different perspective, you understand local issues, and you contribute your experience while learning immensely from the teams on site. If I had one piece of advice for someone hesitating to take the leap into international mobility, it would be: don't be afraid of the unknown. Transdev is a group that supports its employees. It is, above all, a human adventure. It makes you grow professionally, but also personally in ways you never would have imagined. It’s a life-changing experience that opens doors for the rest of your career within the group."
Brian Brennan, CEO of Transdev Australia – New Zealand
Brian Brennan, Managing Director (formerly Deputy MD) of Transdev Australia & New Zealand: "Is that good? Can I go? Hi, I'm Brian Brennan. I am the Deputy Managing Director of Transdev in Australia and New Zealand. I joined Transdev a little over 10 years ago now. I started in Dublin, Ireland, where I was the Director of Luas, which is Dublin's light rail network. And 5 years ago, I had the opportunity to move to Sydney, Australia. In the beginning, you know, when you think about international mobility, it’s a big leap into the unknown. But what is great about Transdev is that you are part of a global network. You aren't heading off alone to an unknown company; you remain within the Transdev family, but in a different cultural and operational context. Transdev provided me with the necessary support to make this move. They gave me the opportunity to lead major infrastructure projects here in Sydney, like the city’s new light rail. It is an incredible experience to see how things work on the other side of the world. You bring your expertise, but you also learn a huge amount from the local teams. Australians have a very pragmatic and direct way of solving problems, and I have learned a lot from that. If I had one message for my colleagues considering international mobility, it would be: don't hesitate. If you have the ambition to see the world and grow professionally, Transdev is the ideal place to do it. Talk to your managers, look at internal opportunities. It is a challenge, certainly, because you have to adapt to a new life, but the benefits for your career and for yourself are immeasurable. It is probably the best decision I have made in my professional life."
