Culture: Once Upon a Voice

Since 1996, the École Du Spectateur (EdS) has been offering arts education focused on singing and the voice for children, teenagers, and young adults. The organization provides classes and workshops led by professionals from the performing arts and cultural sectors. The goal is to foster well-rounded citizens by developing listening skills, concentration, and mutual respect. Open to everyone without prior selection or auditions, the program ensures financial accessibility for every participant. This approach through the performing arts has enabled hundreds of young people to benefit from a learning experience that combines high standards with enjoyment.

The École du Spectateur offers three choir levels: Intermediate Choir (CP–CM2), Youth Creative Choir (6th grade–college), and Adult Choir.

Weekly sessions, lasting 1.5 to 2.5 hours, include singing and dramatic performance. Some students participate in the annual performance, with workshops held during school breaks. The EdS also invites school classes to performances, preparing students in advance and having them participate on stage. In 2022, the EdS produced the opera “Le Chant des Sirènes” with support from the Transdev Foundation.
