With Chronopro, Transdev connects public transportation systems
Four pilot projects launched in August 2016 in Beauvais, Vitrolles, Courtaboeuf, and Mulhouse aim to better serve business parks located outside public transportation networks. The goal is to save time and make daily commutes more comfortable.
12 of our vehicles cover the first and last mile
Within defined areas, the twelve Transdev vehicles connect suburban business parks, where public transport runs less frequently, to train stations and other transport hubs. This Chronopro solution has two benefits:
- Social: it provides essential mobility for disadvantaged populations living in suburban areas;
- Industrial: it revitalizes sites and thus gives employers located outside urban centers a competitive advantage.
Simple access conditions
Simplicity is at the heart of our passenger strategy. Departure times from the transport hub are designed to be fully consistent with regular bus routes. This ensures seamless connections. Payment is also easy, as both single tickets and season tickets are accepted.
Thanks to these advantages, Chronopro services have seen a rapid increase in ridership. In Vitrolles, sixteen months after the service was launched, the total number of journeys has increased by 33%. Proof of the impact on residents' daily lives can be seen in the towns of Vitrolles and Beauvais alone, where Chronopro now brings no fewer than 21,000 people closer to their workplaces. A great success and proven usefulness that we are proud of!
