In Sydney, on-demand transportation is promoting a new form of mobility
Mobility from the first to the last mile is at the heart of Transdev's strategy. In Sydney, Australia, we launched eight on-demand transportation pilot projects in November 2017. This ensures seamless daily mobility for residents of the country's largest city.

Several innovative projects focusing on the last mile
The proliferation of new modes of public transportation, which aim to replace private cars, is likely to create disruptions in daily commutes. To avoid these inconveniences, we first launched the RIDE Plus project, which increases the frequency of transfers between ferry terminals and train stations in two suburbs of the city. Then, we connected Sutherland train stations and bus stops with on-demand shuttles through the Transdev Link project.
“Improving fluidity also means working on the synchronization of different modes of transport. We have launched an app and a website to collect data on passenger behavior, in order to better assess their needs and offer them relevant solutions.”
High-quality standards for a successful travel experience
Learn more about our on-demand transportation solutionsThe ten shuttles operated by Transdev, which are fully accessible to people with reduced mobility, can be easily booked by phone. Payment can be made by credit card or in cash to the drivers. This flexibility allows everyone to use the transport services.
The quality of the passenger experience is further enhanced by high-quality services such as Wi-Fi, USB ports, and electric sliding doors.
The results have lived up to the expectations of Transdev and the public authority Transport for New South Wales: ridership has increased by 20% per week since the start of operations, and the drivers have been widely praised. True journey makers, they show constant attention to their passengers.
