CONNECT PEOPLE AND PLACE

For over two decades, Luas—operated by Transdev Dublin
Light Rail (TDLR)—has been at the heart of how Dublin moves. From the leafy suburbs of Cherrywood, Tallaght, and Broombridge to the bustling city centre, Luas has done more than extend transport options—it has helped shape modern Dublin.

Luas helps take cars off the road, supports greener travel, and connects new communities to each other. Since its launch, TDLR has delivered four seamless network extensions.

Every new connection brought change. Transdev are proud to partner with local schools and community projects along the way.

Together, we're building a more connected, vibrant Dublin.

A TRUSTED NAME IN MOBILITY

In 2024, over 97% of passengers rated their most recent Luas journey as highly satisfactory (IPSOS Customer Satisfaction Survey). That’s the kind of trust we’ve built for and with our clients TII and the NTA—and with the people of Dublin. Backed by global expertise and a strong sustainability mission, TDLR continues to deliver safe,
inclusive, and future-focused transport solutions.

We’re proud to help build a cleaner, better-connected Dublin. We are always driving forward.

SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT, REAL IMPACT

From day one, TDLR has been a leader in clean, green travel.
The Luas network is 100% electric, with zero emissions at street
level.

If every Luas journey in 2022 had been made by car, Dublin would
have seen 35,000 extra vehicles on the roads—resulting in over
1,000 tonnes of additional CO emissions every month.
Can you imagine?

REDUCING EMISSIONS EVERY DAY

• LED lighting retrofitted in depots to cut energy use
• LED upgrades underway at tram stops and car parks
• 43% drop in CO emissions per passenger since 2017
• 1% decrease in energy consumption per passenger.

Ireland’s climate goals are clear: halve transport-related emissions
by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050. Transdev is doing its part
quietly and consistently.

DESIGNED FOR THE MODERN DUBLIN

Luas isn’t just about getting from A to B—it’s about making every journey smooth, safe, and inclusive. With fully accessible stops and trams, and a range of onboard features, including security, Luas welcomes all passengers with confidence and comfort.

By connecting more people to work, education, and leisure, Transdev as Luas operator supports a more inclusive
and socially integrated Dublin.

PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER Yes, Luas is iconic—but it’s also part of a much larger picture. Integrated with Dublin Bus, Irish Rail, DART, Bus Éireann, and coach and bike networks, Luas offers a smooth, joined-up public transport experience. We work closely with our partners to make journeys easier and more reliable for everyone.
