Energy transition: territories taking action

Strongly committed to advancing clean energy across Brittany.

Developing sustainable mobility

As a committed player in the energy transition, we are advancing smart mobility. Through our subsidiary Véloway, we are building flexible solutions for so‑called active mobility centered around cycling. For example, in Côtes d’Armor, with Axeo Vélo, residents now benefit from a comprehensive long‑term rental service for e‑bikes (electric‑assist bicycles).

Our objective: to facilitate behavioral change driven by the collective awareness of the climate emergency.

Committing to the protection of maritime areas

  • Implementation of an internal measurement system based on key environmental performance indicators.
  • Integration of environmental performance criteria into the company’s employee profit‑sharing agreement.
  • Reduction of the environmental footprint of the last two vessels built under Transdev’s supervision, which led to obtaining Bureau Veritas CLEANSHIP certification through optimized fuel consumption (hull and engine design), waste management (wastewater and greenhouse gases), and the use of a biocide‑free antifouling hull coating.
  • Environmental awareness campaigns and biodiversity protection initiatives to promote eco‑tourism in the Breton islands.

Go to shared modes

Since April 8, 2021, Axeo Auto, the car-sharing service for the Guingamp Paimpol Agglomération area, has been revitalizing rural areas and making it easier to get around the region. This is thanks to five cars available at stations in Bégard, Bourbriac, Callac, and Pontrieux, with another station opening in Louargat in September. This operation has been made possible by sharing terminals with those already in place by the Côtes d'Armor Energy Syndicate (SDE22).

Rézo pouce: a spontaneous carpooling solution without appointments, organized from stops that are consistent with the existing transport network.

Experimenting with the mobility solutions of tomorrow in Bretagne

Brittany has been a testing ground for alternative motorized transport services for several years.

Bio Natural Gas for Vehicles (GNV)

In February 2018, we experimented with the operation of a bio-gas coach on the BreizhGo network. Bio GNV, composed of methane of renewable origin, is derived from the methanization of various organic wastes.

Electric motorization

At September's Mobility Week we presented several innovations at the We MOOve village in Brest.

A first in Bretagne :

Testing of an autonomous electric shuttle connected to various modes of transport (cable car, Bibus tram network). A hybrid summer shuttle operates in addition to the Vannes/Port-Navalo line to meet tourist demand (trips to the islands). In October 2020, we plan to test an electric bus for transporting staff at a private site in Finistère.
