A committed and responsible player in the Paris region
Transdev is committed to sustainable mobility with low-carbon solutions: electric buses, hydrogen, and CSR initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint of transportation in the Île-de-France region.
Making the energy transition a reality
We have introduced electric vehicles based on our extensive international experience, natural gas vehicles with more than 1,000 vehicles already in operation in France, and, to reduce emissions from existing fleets, we are using new synthetic fuels.
110
NGV (natural gas) buses and 40 GTL (gas to liquid) vehicles
130
hybrid vehicles and 50 HVO (hydro vegetable oil) vehicles
20
electric buses
Three major areas of focus for Île-de-France mobility
1. Reducing emissions from existing vehicle fleets
The use of synthetic fuels such as GTL (synthetic fuel derived from natural gas) or HVO (biofuel obtained from plant, animal, or waste biomass) rapidly reduces emissions from all combustion engine vehicles in operation, as well as their noise levels. Today, in partnership with Île-de-France Mobilités, we operate more than 40 vehicles running on GTL in Chelles and 50 running on HVO in Vulaines.
2. Development of the NGV sector
Transdev actively supports the development of the NGV sector in Île-de-France. We operate more than 100 NGV vehicles from the Meaux and Orsay-Marcoussis depots. Our experience and expertise in the construction of compression stations and slow and fast charging installations also enables us to convert new depots.
3. Deployment of electric bus systems
We view the operation of electric buses as a system that integrates charging devices, range, and vehicle capacity. At the Argenteuil depot, Transdev has set up the first multi-manufacturer open charging station and is preparing for smart charging in partnership with IFSTTAR.
Transdev Living Lab Electric Bus:
Founded in 2015, the Transdev Living Lab Electric Bus is an international participatory community that facilitates exchanges between transport networks and experts from transport authorities, ministries, government agencies, and research centers.

Transdev is committed to urban policy to make cities accessible to all
By signing the “Entreprises et Quartiers” charter with the Yvelines department in 2016, Transdev made commitments for 2017 in four areas:
- Mobility in priority neighborhoods
- Employment, integration, and training
- Education and academic guidance/discovery of professions and the company
- Economic development
A solution accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing people
Hearing loss or absence affects 6 million people in France today. That's why we've set up a solution for the deaf and hard-of-hearing that's adapted to their disability. With Acceo, two modes of communication are available to them:
- Instantaneous speech transcription (TIP), with real-time subtitling of what is said
- Visio-interpretation in French sign language (LSF). The visio-interpreter orally translates the deaf person's signs, then translates the customer advisor's words into sign language in real time.
