Tim de Vries, Transdev bus driver and professional handbiker, wins three medals at the European Para-Cycling Championships
A bus driver at Connexxion, Transdev's Dutch subsidiary, Tim de Vries is also a top-level handbiker. Competing in three events at the European Para-Cycling Championships, held from June 12 to 14, 2026 in Maniago, Italy, he came away with two bronze medals and one silver. Next up: the World Championships in the United States this September.
Three events, three podiums
Racing in the colours of the Netherlands, Tim de Vries delivered an outstanding championship: bronze in the time trial, bronze in the road race and silver in the team relay. "It was amazing! The atmosphere was great and the setting was beautiful," he said after a competition that brought together nearly 300 of the continent's best para-cyclists from some twenty nations.
