Urban transportation, for a different way of experiencing cities in AuRA
Tramway: know-how from the world No. 1
A historic player in the revival of the tramway, Transdev is today the global leader. In Auvergne Rhône‑Alpes, the Saint‑Étienne network illustrates this expertise. As the quintessential urban mode of transport, the tramway combines numerous advantages (capacity, speed, frequency, accessibility, comfort, quiet operation) and provides the ideal backbone for developing a multimodal network that integrates other mobility solutions, notably active modes such as cycling, car‑sharing, and walking.
Bus Rapid Transit or BRT: the breath of open spaces
Inspired by high-capacity express lines in North and South America, bus rapid transit (BRT) combines the principles of buses and trams, notably by running on dedicated lanes and carrying more passengers than conventional buses. Suitable for cities such as Valence and Roanne, BRT helps revitalize city centers and suburban areas with four major advantages: speed, regularity, frequency, and range.
Bus: the keys to efficiency
Within the Transdev Auvergne Rhône‑Alpes division, we operate more than 109 bus routes across 8 departments, ranging from small networks of 5 to 20 buses to medium‑sized networks exceeding 150 units.
Each service offer is built using our exclusive methodology – the Transdev “CLE” method – which optimizes the service delivered to communities and passengers around three key pillars:
- Clarity of routes
- Readability of timetables
- Commercial, economic, and ecological efficiency
