Self-service and long-term bike rental in Nouvelle Aquitaine

Faced with environmental, public health, and urban congestion challenges, local authorities are seeking attractive mobility solutions. This involves active mobility solutions tailored to their local areas, such as self-service bicycles, short- to medium-term bicycle rentals, pedestrian walkways, and more. These shared and sometimes electric solutions are designed to be combined with public transportation to offer innovative intermodal options.

We are integrating bicycles into our overall mobility offering in order to promote the use of public transportation and shared individual modes of transport.

We are implementing tailored mobility solutions and services through humanized bike rental schemes in the urban areas of Niort, Royan, Rochefort, Villeneuve-sur-Lot, and Libourne. In Royan, in response to its huge success, the urban area has doubled its fleet of electric bikes available for long-term rental. In Niort and Libourne, self-service electric bike services are available at key intermodal hubs. In 2025, the Libournais metropolitan area will continue to develop its Calivélo service with 52 stations serving all the municipalities in its territory.
