Transdev Canada, as part of the Connect 6ix consortium, has been selected by Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx to operate and maintain the new Ontario Line, a stand-alone rapid transit line, for a 30-year term.
Transdev Canada Secures Ontario Line Operations Contract
Transdev Canada, as part of the Connect 6ix consortium, has been awarded a 30-year contract by Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx to operate and maintain the Ontario Line, a new 15.6 km stand-alone metro transit line in Toronto. The line will connect the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition/Ontario Place. Transdev will also provide advisory support during the design and construction phases to ensure operational efficiency.
Second Major Project in the Greater Toronto Area,
This is Transdev’s second major project in the Greater Toronto Area, following the Hurontario Line LRT. Both projects use a public-private partnership model, which transfers financial risk to the consortium while ensuring cost and schedule certainty.
Transdev's strategic role
Transdev will: act as a key advisor during design and construction phases ; ensure operations and maintenance requirements are integrated early ; drive innovation and sustainability for long-term system performance.
