Nantes Coach Station: Multimodal Management at the Heart of Regional Mobility
Since 1 October 2025, Transdev has been operating the Nantes coach station, a strategic facility integrated into the Multimodal Transport Hub (PEM) of Nantes railway station. As a true hub for regional and national mobility, the coach station showcases the Group’s expertise in managing complex sites, supporting smooth travel flows and high‑quality service for passengers.
A Structuring Contract Serving the Territory
Awarded for the period from 1 October 2025 to 31 December 2029, the operating contract for the Nantes coach station entrusts Transdev with the day‑to‑day management of a key mobility asset in the Pays de la Loire region. Located at the heart of Nantes railway station, the coach station fully embodies an enhanced intermodal approach, facilitating connections between rail services, coaches, urban transport and other mobility solutions.
A Hub Hosting a Diverse Transport Offering
The Nantes coach station accommodates a wide range of transport services, reflecting the diversity of uses and passenger profiles:
- Regular and Regional Express services from the Aléop network,
- Commercial coach services (including FlixBus and BlaBlaCar),
- The airport shuttle service operated by the Naolib network,
- As well as a dedicated taxi drop‑off area.
The coexistence of multiple operators within a single site requires precise coordination of traffic flows, platforms and passenger information—core elements of Transdev’s expertise.
A Human Organisation Dedicated to Service Quality
The operation of the coach station relies on a team of eight professionals, mobilised daily to serve passengers and drivers:
- One station manager and an assistant, responsible for operational oversight and partner relations,
- One administrative and financial manager,
- Five multi‑skilled mobility advisors, supported by seasonal staff during peak periods.
Present on site, these teams ensure passenger welcoming and guidance, manage disrupted situations, and help deliver a smooth and secure user experience.
Deployment Supported by Transdev Group Expertise
The operation of the Nantes coach station builds on the expertise of the Transdev Group, and more specifically on its subsidiary Mobilink, which specialises in managing complex mobility facilities and multimodal interchange hubs. This approach combines operational excellence, innovation and adaptation to local specificities.
High‑Performance Facilities for Optimised Operations
The Pays de la Loire Region has deployed modern passenger information and traffic regulation systems, operated daily by Transdev STAO teams, including:
- Vehicle entry and exit systems using automatic licence plate recognition,
- Semi‑dynamic allocation of coaches across the station’s 15 platforms, enabling real‑time optimisation,
- Information screens dedicated to both drivers and passengers,
- A video surveillance system contributing to site security.
These tools enhance operational reliability, service clarity and traffic safety.
