Green depot
Leading the way in sustainable transport, our York depot combines renewable energy, advanced engineering, and biodiversity initiatives to deliver cleaner mobility for communities across the UK.
York’s Green Depot: Building a Cleaner Future
In Spring 2024, we opened a next-generation green depot on York’s northern edge cutting carbon emissions by 28% compared to 2013 benchmarks. This innovative facility blends renewable energy, modern engineering, and environmental care to deliver a sustainable transport solution for communities across the UK.
Smart Design for Sustainability
Our depot was built with solar panels, air source heat pumps, and airtight construction to maximize energy efficiency. We’ve also introduced biodiversity measures, including native planting and nesting boxes for birds and bats, creating a greener environment around the site.
Ready for Full Electrification
Charging points for electric vehicles are already installed, and the building is future-proofed for complete fleet electrification, paving the way for zero-emission travel.
