International Experience at the Heart of Transdev Group

International Mobility Programs Driving Talent Growth

  • The Short-Term Assignment (STA) program enables employees to undertake international assignments lasting from 2 weeks to 12 months before returning to their original position.
  • STA supports both employee development and operational needs by sharing skills, expertise and resources across Transdev entities.
  • The e.Team program connects a global network of experts with operational and strategic challenges across the Group through targeted support missions.
  • The International Corporate Volunteer Program (VIE) offers early-career professionals an international operational experience while helping Transdev build its future talent pipeline.
  • Dedicated development initiatives such as OTLP and Shape Your Way strengthen employee growth and long-term career opportunities within Transdev.

Short-Term Assignment (STA) program : A driver of growth and performance

Launched in 2024, the Short-Term Assignment (STA) is a form of international mobility, lasting between 2 weeks and 12 months, at another Transdev Group entity abroad. At the end of the STA, the employee returns to their original position.

The STA is a valuable tool for short-term mobility, created and designed by the Group to foster the development of its employees. It serves both to meet local operational needs (by providing skills and expertise) and to support talent development within the Group.

The top three sending countries are France, Germany, and the Corporate division, while the top three host countries are the Corporate division, Morocco, and Sweden.

There are two main approaches to Short-Term Assignments:

  • Talent-development-focused STAs, which aim to support employee development. These can be carried out as personalized development initiatives or as part of development programs, such as On the Launch Pad (OTLP)
  • Operational-needs-oriented STA, which aims to meet the operational needs of the Group’s countries by mobilizing employees who share their skills, provide specific expertise, and contribute to projects or assignments at the request of Transdev countries.

e.team program : A global community of experts serving operational excellence

Transdev relies on a worldwide community of experts to support strategic projects and operational challenges across its networks. Through the e.Team program, experienced professionals can be deployed on short- or medium-term assignments to share their technical knowledge, operational experience and best practices gained in different countries and business environments.

The e.Team framework enables the Group to quickly connect the right expertise with the right needs. Built around 27 identified fields of expertise, it allows employees to showcase their skills, indicate their availability and contribute to expert support missions across the organization.

Recognized for their know-how, collaborative mindset and validated by their respective area leaders, these specialists become part of an international network dedicated to strengthening Transdev’s mobility solutions and supporting customers around the world.

In 2022, the E.Team community brought together around 300 experts based in more than 20 countries, delivering nearly 180 support missions throughout the Group.

The International Corporate Volunteer Program (VIE): A Career Springboard at Transdev

The International Corporate Volunteer Program (VIE) is fully administered by Business France, an agency of the Ministry of the Economy and Finance. There are currently more than 10,000 VIE participants working at French companies around the world.

At Transdev, the VIE program is a path to excellence that offers the opportunity to grow and contribute to the Group’s expansion. A VIE is an early-career employee who carries out an international operational assignment (typically lasting 24 months). It is an immersive, professional-development experience that is firmly focused on the future.

For the Group, the VIE program serves as a talent pool, with participants typically having 3 to 5 years of experience. Operations & Maintenance is projected to be the top department for VIE assignments in 2025.

Through the VIE program, Transdev aims to:

  • Attract, develop, and retain high-potential talent who align with the Group’s culture and values and are ready to grow within the organization.
  • Build an international talent pipeline for future recruitment needs by transitioning VIE participants into permanent positions.
  • Offer rich and diverse employee experiences, both culturally and operationally, to support participants’ long-term career development.

To achieve these objectives, a dedicated career support program is integrated into the VIE experience. Called “Shape Your Way,” this program helps VIE participants define and structure a career path within Transdev through a clear, practical, and action-oriented methodology.

75%

of VIE participants have been hired by the Group upon completion of their assignments, over the past 10 years.
