The operations center at the heart of intercity transportation
Brittany was one of the first regions to pilot a new system for inter-city network oversight, with the opening of an Operations Center dedicated to real-time network management.
Operational centers: a movement that began in Brittany
Brittany was one of the first regions to pilot a new model for inter-city supervision, with the opening of an Operations Center dedicated to real-time network management. This approach aims to improve service coordination, enhance operational quality, and ensure a more responsive management of day-to-day situations.
Rennes, Pioneering Operations Center (2023)
Launched in 2023, the Rennes Intercity Operations Center is the first project to be implemented as part of this initiative.
It provides continuous oversight of operations on the Ille-et-Vilaine routes through:
- real-time monitoring of more than 300 vehicles per day,
- constant coordination with driver teams,
- management structured around four key areas: safety, quality of
service, productivity, and employee support.
The center operates Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on weekends from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with a break), supplemented by on-call duty outside of operating hours.
Its operations rely on a dedicated team consisting of four dispatchers and a supervisor.

A model that is being gradually expanded
Building on its success, this model was subsequently rolled out to other departments in Brittany, notably Morbihan (56), in order to improve the performance and consistency of intercity operations throughout the region.
A trend that is set to continue
The establishment of these Operational Centers is part of a positive trend that is set to continue and expand in order to keep pace with changes in the networks and to sustainably improve the quality of service provided to passengers.
