Commissioned in December 2025, Câble C1 is the first urban cable car in the Île-de-France region. Operated by Transdev for Île-de-France Mobilités, it links Val-de-Marne to Metro Line 8 in twenty minutes.

What cable transport brings to the area

  • Obstacles cleared without heavy ground infrastructure.
  • A fully step-free system, with no lifts or escalators.
  • A service linking residential neighbourhoods to the regional network.
  • A twenty minute journey along a 4.5 km line.

Why an urban cable car in south east Paris?

The area is shaped by major transport corridors, natural barriers and fragmented urban environments. Cable transport adapts particularly well to those constraints.

It clears obstacles such as terrain, roads or rail infrastructure without requiring heavy ground works.

What is the passenger experience?

The system is state of the art in terms of safety and operations, with high performing monitoring and alarm devices. Cabins allow passengers to travel seated, in a calm environment.

The whole system is step-free, which guarantees full accessibility for people with reduced mobility without relying on lifts or escalators.
