Transdev plans to launch a new tram line in Toronto (Ontario, Canada) with the Hazel McCallion line, which will serve the downtown area of Ontario's capital.

Australia – Melbourne, the world's largest tram network
Since December 1, 2024, Transdev has been operating the Yarra Trams network in Melbourne. It is the largest tram network in the world, with 25 lines and more than 500 trams on over 250 km of track, covering the capital of the state of Victoria, Australia's second most populous city with 5.3 million inhabitants.
Yarra Trams carries around 180 million passengers a year. It is an iconic network in the city, both part of its heritage and essential to the daily functioning of the metropolis.
Transdev has multiple ambitions for the network: to improve punctuality and reliability, enhance safety and accessibility at stops, modernize infrastructure, and implement innovative environmental initiatives, such as using electricity from renewable sources.
This contract strengthens the Group's position as a world leader in tramway operations. Transdev relies on a collaborative approach with local authorities and communities, ensuring sustainable and inclusive management of the network.
France – Historical expertise
Transdev operates six tram networks in France.
Le Havre – LiA Network
Transdev Le Havre manages the LiA network, which includes two tram lines, key bus routes, and on-demand transport services. The company is supporting the organizing authority in the energy transition of the fleet, with the gradual introduction of electric and bio-NGV buses.
Mulhouse – Soléa Network
In Mulhouse, Transdev operates the Soléa network, which includes three tram lines and a tram-train connecting the city to the Thur Valley. The fleet consists of 22 Alstom Citadis trains and 12 Siemens Avanto trains for the tram-train.
Nantes – Réseau Naolib
Transdev is involved in operating the Naolib network in Nantes, which comprises three tram lines with a total of 84 stations. The network is currently being modernized with the introduction of new Alstom Citadis X05 trains, aimed at improving comfort and energy efficiency.
Reims – Greater Reims Mobility Network
Transdev Reims operates the Grand Reims Mobilités network, comprising two tram lines covering 11.2 km with 24 stations. The network was launched in 2011 as part of a public-private partnership aimed at significantly increasing public transport ridership in the metropolitan area.
Rouen – Astuce Network
In Rouen, Transdev participates in the operation of the Astuce network, which includes a tram line with two branches and bus rapid transit (BRT) services. The network serves the Rouen metropolitan area, offering an efficient alternative to private cars.
Saint-Étienne – STAS network
Transdev Saint-Étienne manages the STAS network, which includes three tram lines. The network is constantly evolving, with plans to expand to serve new neighborhoods and strengthen public transportation options.

Ireland – The tramway in the capital city of Dublin
Transdev Dublin Light Rail Limited has been operating Dublin's Luas tram network since 2004, successfully renewing contracts over the years and providing more than 50 million journeys in 2024 on an expanding network.
This network consists of two lines serving the Irish capital. The east-west red line stretches 20 km with 32 stops and connects The Point – Connolly to Tallaght – Saggart. The north-south green line, 22 km long with 35 stops, connects Broombridge to Brides Glen. Every day, the Luas network carries an average of 110,000 passengers.
Transdev is responsible for both the operation and maintenance of 42 km of track, three depots and 73 trams, with a workforce of 350 people.
Spain – The tramway of the Catalan capital and its suburbs
In Catalonia, Transdev operates through TRAM Barcelona, jointly operated with Moventia. The network comprises two separate systems: Trambaix (lines T1 to T3) and Trambesòs (lines T4 to T6), connecting suburban communities to the city center.
The network carries more than 30 million passengers per year. TRAM Barcelona also stands out for its universal accessibility policy, gender equality in management, and environmental performance (recycling rate, optimized energy consumption).
Sweden – A historic network
Transdev operates Norrköping's historic tram network
Since 2004, Transdev has been managing and operating the Norrköping tram network, actively contributing to the city's sustainable urban mobility. Founded in 1904, the Norrköping tram network is one of the oldest in Europe still in service, symbolizing a successful alliance between historical heritage and modernity.
Today, Transdev operates two tram lines on this network, with a total of 25 stations covering a distance of 18 kilometers. These trams provide daily transportation for more than
25,000 passengers, facilitating daily commutes and reducing carbon footprints by limiting the use of private vehicles.
Morocco-Rabat-Salé – Efficiency close to the capital
Since 2011, Transdev has been operating the Rabat-Salé tram network on behalf of the AAVB agency. The network consists of two lines (T1 and T2) with 27 km of track. Owned by Rabat Région Mobilité (RRM), this network is an essential part of the public transport infrastructure in the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco.
The service is renowned for its regularity and efficiency. Transdev operates a fleet of 66 Alstom Citadis trams, each capable of carrying up to 600 passengers. These modern trams offer a reliable and comfortable service, with a frequency of 8 minutes during peak hours.
More than 45 million passengers are transported each year. Transdev has successfully adapted its operating standards to local cultural and climatic conditions, while maintaining a high level of punctuality and customer satisfaction. Line extensions are planned for 2026.
Netherlands – Three tram lines in Utrecht awarded through tender process
In the Netherlands, Transdev will operate Utrecht's three tram lines from December 2025. Utrecht is the only one of the four largest cities in the Netherlands—including Amsterdam, The Hague, and Rotterdam—where public transport is awarded through competitive bidding. With 54 CAF trains, the Utrecht tram network consists of three lines covering a total length of 18.3 km and carried 10 million passengers in 2024.
Canada (under construction)
Transdev is involved in the Hazel McCallion light rail project, in partnership with Metrolinx. This network, which will connect Brampton to Mississauga (Ontario), is designed to respond to urban growth in major Canadian cities with modern technologies and high-quality service.
Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have awarded the Mobilinx consortium, of which Transdev is a member, a contract worth €3.15 billion (C$4.6 billion). The Mobilinx team will be responsible for the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of this rail system for a period of 30 years. Transdev will operate and maintain the tramway once construction is complete.
The Hazel McCallion Tramway is an 18-kilometer light rail system with 19 stops running along Hurontario Street from Port Credit in Mississauga to the Gateway Terminal south of Brampton. The tramway will operate on a dedicated right-of-way with a traffic priority system along most of its route.
Throughout the construction and mobilization phase, which is still ongoing, Transdev is supporting its partners and advising them on aspects related to the system's operability.
United States – Trams in Wisconsin and Ohio
In the United States, Transdev operates two tram lines under public contracts in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Cincinnati, Ohio. The group highlights its operational capabilities combined with strong maintenance expertise.
In Cincinnati, Transdev contributed to the relaunch of the Cincinnati Bell Connector service, with completely free service for passengers since 2020, promoting a resurgence in ridership.
