Transdev Canada strengthens non-emergency medical transportation with the acquisition of Inter-Facility Services in British Columbia
Transdev Canada has announced the acquisition of Inter-Facility Services, a recognised specialist in patient transport across the interior of British Columbia. Announced on June 25, 2026, the deal marks Transdev Canada's entry into non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) in the province and continues its growth in Western Canada.
A first step into NEMT in British Columbia
With this acquisition, Transdev Canada launches its first non-emergency medical transportation operation in British Columbia. It complements the expertise the company already deploys across the country: paratransit, transit, school busing and industrial shuttles. The Group thereby strengthens its mobility offering for the healthcare sector, where reliable and safe journeys are essential for patients and institutions alike.
Inter-Facility Services, a trusted partner of the healthcare system
With more than five decades of combined experience, Inter-Facility Services has earned a strong reputation for dependable, safe and punctual patient transport. The company works with the Interior Health Authority to provide non-emergency transfers between six key hospitals in the region: Oliver, Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon, Salmon Arm and Kamloops.
Its offering covers a wide range of paramedical services: stretcher transport, airport transfers, journeys to medical appointments, long-distance patient transport and first aid coverage at events.
A strategic acquisition serving communities
"We are delighted to welcome Inter-Facility Services into the Transdev Canada family," said Arthur Nicolet, Chief Executive Officer of Transdev Canada. He highlighted that the company's commitment to high-quality, patient-focused care aligns with Transdev's purpose of providing mobility that is safe, reliable and inclusive. The acquisition strengthens the Group's ability to serve communities across British Columbia and enhances its healthcare mobility offering.
Operating in six provinces and one territory, Transdev is Canada's largest multimodal passenger transport company, with nearly 6,500 employees nationwide. The company holds the Great Place to Work® certification for 2024-2025.
